Her love of Italy, particularly Venice, inspires many of her themes including the Venetian Canal. This theme is congruent with her New Orleans up bringing and the Mardi Gras celebration. This New Orleans native arrived in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1987 to attend the University of Louisiana Lafayette. After studying Fine Arts for three years, she changed majors and ultimately obtained a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2000. DD recently completed her Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She continues to paint, exploring the mystery of life and the truth that painting brings.
